Manchester United FINALLY Look Like They Will Sign Somebody

AT LONG LAST, MANCHESTER UNITED FINALLY LOOK LIKE THEY WILL ACTUALLY SIGN PLAYERS THIS TRANSFER WINDOW. Whew. Sorry for the all-caps, but you can’t even begin to understand the utter frustration every Manchester United fan is currently going through. But hopefully we won’t be frustrated for much longer as it seems Barcelona’s Frenkie De Jong, and Feyenoord’s Tyrell Malacia will be Red Devils next season.

From seeing every one of United’s rivals, Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester City, all make new signings that drastically improve their squads, to looking at United’s board twiddling their thumbs when the word “transfer” is mentioned is utterly frustrating.

United are coming off their worst ever Premier League campaign.

One that has included two managers either getting sacked/let go, the complete stagnation of the young talent/development, the utter destruction of United’s midfield prowess, a 9-0 aggregate loss to Liverpool over two games, the waste of Cristiano Ronaldo’s talent, a 6th place Premier League finish, and missing out on Champions League football for the first time in two years.

Everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong for United last season. Nobody progressed, while nearly everybody regressed. Last year, United fielded their WORST ever midfield and defense in the Premier League era.

The only other worst midfield-defense combination that could possible compare was the 1973-74 combination, which was the last United team to be relegated.

But that is about to change (I hope).

Finally, it seems United have made a breakthrough with their transfer negotiations with Barcelona for Frenkie De Jong. The once prized Ajax midfielder has had a challenging spell at Barcelona, though his talent could never be denied.

His issue is that Barcelona has an abundance of talented midfielders who all play in a similar position to De Jong.

With United, there would be no issue of a crowed midfield. As Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, and Jesse Lindgard have finally left, the only other midfielders at the club are Donnie Van Der Beek, Scott McTominay, and Fred.

Yeah, Frenkie should have no trouble starting in that team.

Plus, there is the added bonus of reuniting with Erik Ten Hag (Manchester United’s current manager), his old Ajax boss. With De Jong now giving his consent to playing in Manchester, I’m glad this deal is coming together.

As for Tyrell Malacia, I’m shocked United look like they will get this deal done. Malacia was dead set on an Olympique Lyonnais (OL) deal only a few days ago, but Ten Hag’s Dutch Revolution is coming full swing as the young, extremely talented left fullback is bound to be a United player for just 15M euros. That’s a great deal that should solve the left back issue.

If United can also convince Christian Eriksen to leave Brentford and sign as a free agent, while also getting Antony and Lissandro Martinez or Jurrian Timber from Ajax, this transfer window will look a lot better than it does right now.
