God Of War: Ragnarök’s Cinematic Trailer Looked AWESOME

God of War: Ragnarök (Sony/PlayStation-God of War: Ragnarök-"Father and Son" Cinematic Trailer)

So, will God of War: Ragnarök follow up its Game of The Year predecessor with a nomination of its own? Judging by its new cinematic trailer, I’d have to say yes.

I realize that this was not an actual “gameplay trailer”, but I can’t help but gush over the cinematics. They looked unbelievably good. To be honest, they looked just as good as the Elder Scrolls Online cinematics, which is saying a lot.

If these gaming companies ever decided to release full movie-length cinematics (especially the Bethesda/ZeniMax), with full length plots, stories, developed characters, dialogue, etc., they would garner bigger audiences than most blockbuster movies get.

Anyway, getting back to God of War: Ragnarök, I can’t wait for this game. This one should pan out to be the best and most emotional GOW yet as Kratos and Atreus/Loki seem set to face off against the great wolf Fenrir (I think I’m getting that name right) and the doom Ragnarök brings.

I’m not sure how many more God of War games we will be getting with Kratos as our protagonist, though I will treasure each one dearly. His character has undergone a fantastic transformation and redemption since the first time we saw him.

Going from a vengeful, ruthless, god-slaying superbeing to a reserved, careful, caring father has been a joy to watch.

I will miss playing as Kratos when his past escapades of god-slaying finally catches up to him (which was prophesied in the final scenes of God of War 4).

Seeing Atreus grown up was cool as well. He looked like a true warrior and god as he fought alongside his father against some undead skeletons in the final act of the trailer. I’m guessing this upcoming God of War game will have Atreus struggle and toil against his Loki personality in order to stay more like his Spartan father, to only then accept and embrace it by the game’s ending.

I’d be somewhat surprised if Atreus/Loki was not the player character in God of War 6.

But I’m getting way ahead of myself. God of War: Ragnarök looks to be one of best games coming out in 2022. I’m positive Sony and all the GOW game designers, developers, voice actors, etc. will get this sequel right!
