Montreal Canadiens’ Paul Byron Is A Hero

In a world that is so often dominated by gloom and depressing headlines, Paul Byron has just shown why there is still a reason to aspire to be good. The Montreal Canadiens’ forward has just saved a pilot after his plane crashed into a Lac de Sables Lake in Quebec.

This is a great story to end the day on. Montreal Canadiens’ forward, Paul Byron, and a group of his family and friends were out fishing and jet-skiing across the lake when a small seaplane came crashing down from the sky into the lake below.

As the good, honest hockey player that Byron is, he (along with his family and friends) quickly swam/skied out to the down plane and pulled the pilot out before the it sank.

A great story, right. Nothing more to see here. Well, no, that is not the case at all as Byron not only helped save this man’s life, but also showed a tremendous amount of humility.

Unlike the vast majority of people who would have taken credit for saving the pilot, Byron took to Twitter to share that it was another man, Serge Labelle, who was the one to pull the pilot out from the plane.

How many people do you know who would pass up the fame of saving another human? Paul Byron is truly a great, honorable player. (Here’s the tweet that Byron sent out to credit Labelle: [embedpress]https://mobile.twitter.com/jpbyron89/status/1551368208950632448?cxt=HHwWgICxpdTKyIcrAAAA[/embedpress])

Now, this story is a fantastic, uplifting tale that should not be forgotten. Yet, it won’t do much good for Byron when he and the rest of his Canadien teammates take the ice come opening night.

This plane story may be uplifting, but the story of the Montreal Canadiens’ 2022/23 NHL season is shaping up to be downright depressing. But there’s no point in thinking about that.

What we should be thinking about now is how great it is to see a plane crash story that has a happy ending. Hopefully, the pilot is more careful the next time he goes flying, or he better pray that Paul Byron is in the vicinity again.
