This Is The Bills Time To Right The Wrongs Of 1990’s Super Bowl Failures

Never in Buffalo Bills history, besides the 1990’s, has a roster been on the verge of Super Bowl success as much as this current one. Only a Patrick Mahomes-led Kansas City miracle comeback/shootout (I can’t even describe that game it was so crazy) Divisional Round loss stopped the Bills last year. Yet, I don’t even think Kansas City can hold Buffalo and Bills Mafia back from glory this time around.

For being over twenty years in the shadow of the Tom Brady/Bill Belichick New England Patriots dynasty, Buffalo has at last overtaken the Pats for the best team in the AFC East. Prior to their 2020 AFC East title, the Buffalo Bills hadn’t been the division’s champion for over twenty-five years (1995 was their previous title victory).

Yes, Bills mafia has been suffering with twenty-five years of Patriots (and a few Miami and Jets) AFC East champions. That is now a distant memory.

Lead by All-Pro QB Josh Allen, All-Pro WR Steffon Diggs, and All-Pro CB Tre’Davious White, Buffalo is now the back-to-back (2020, 2021) reigning AFC East champion and one of the two premier teams in the AFC.

By demolishing the Patriots in the Wild Card game last postseason, all Buffalo needs to do now is make their first Super Bowl game since the 1993/94 season.

Which they should have done last year.

With only 13 seconds left on the clock, Buffalo up by 3, and Kansas City on their 20-yard line, all the Bills had to do was not allow the Kansas City Chiefs to go 50-yards and get into field goal range. But, as we all know, Mahomes, Hill, and Kelce linked up twice in 10-seconds to go well over 50 yards and set up kicker Harrison Buckner to kick the game tying-field goal.

We know how the rest of that story played out in overtime.

Nevertheless, the Bills will be coming for the AFC (Kansas City in particular) for revenge this season. With the majority of their starters returning, Buffalo still boasts of having one of the very best rosters in the NFL.

On defense, the Bills have arguably the greatest backfield in the NFL. Safeties Michah Hyde and Jordan Poyer are Pro-Bowl caliber players, with cornerback Tre’Davious White one of the best in the game at his position.

Oh, did I mention Buffalo brought in the 2015 Super Bowl MVP, DE Von Miller, on a 6-year contract this offseason? Yeah, opposing QB’s will have nightmares about facing Buffalo next season. (Predicted Defense Ranking: 1st)

On offense, they have Josh Allen at QB and Steffon Diggs at WR. Enough said.

Thanks to a massive season (I’m predicting) from Diggs at WR, I believe that this is Josh Allen’s year to eclipse Mahomes, Brady, Rodgers, Wilson, and every other QB as the League MVP.  Yes, I think Josh Allen will win his first MVP award. (Predicted Offense Ranking: 1st-3rd)

Buffalo will not only right the wrongs of their recent failures to the Chiefs in the playoffs, but also of past ones with the Jim Kelly-era teams of the 1990’s. I would be shocked if Buffalo did not win the Super Bowl (or at least make it there) next season.
