Real Madrid EASILY Beat Eintracht Frankfurt To Win UEFA Super Cup

Another European game, and other European title for Real Madrid. The reigning Champions League winners, Real Madrid, have defeated the reigning Europa League winner, Eintracht Frankfurt, 2-0 to win yet another European title.

This was and will be the easiest European game to predict all year long. There was no way that Real Madrid, coming off winning a Champions League and La Liga double, was going to lose to the 8th best team in Germany last season.

I’d have placed more money (if I had any) on Karim Benzema scoring a hattrick in the game than Eintracht Frankfurt scoring just one goal.

That is how lopsided this game was from the start.

Speaking of Benzema, he is once again proving why he should be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in voting for the Ballon d’Or. The man has been SUPURB these past four seasons since Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid. In those four years since the greatest Real Madrid goal-scorer left, Benzema has scored 132 across all competitions for Real Madrid.

That’s incredible for a club the size of Madrid.

Plus, his most recent goal, his great strike from the edge of the box against Frankfurt, puts him just behind Ronaldo (who’s #1 in goals scored) with the second-most goals in Real Madrid history with 324 (Ronaldo’s 450 will definitely be hard to reach, though he might be able to do it).

Winning the Champions League, La Liga, the UEFA Super Cup, La Liga’s scoring title, and being a part of the French National team again all in the span of two seasons has to tip the Ballon d’Or voters in his favor.

Real Madrid would have one less league title, Champions League title, and UEFA Super Cup title if it wasn’t for their phenomenal French forward.

As for the rest of the team, they were their usually great selves.

Kroos, Modric, and Casemiro dominated the midfield (as they always do), Vini Jr. was sensational down the left wing, skipping past Frankfurt defenders with ease, and Courtois and the Madrid back-line was once again solid.

This was a classic Carlo Ancelotti (2020’s Era)-Real Madrid win.

With Barcelona getting A LOT better in the transfer window, I find it hard to see Real Madrid winning the league so comfortably again. In fact, I think Barcelona might just pip them to the top.

However, if Barcelona aren’t able to register all of their new signings (which they still haven’t up to this point), then Real Madrid should be consider the La Liga favorites once again. As for the Champions League, Real Madrid should ALWAYS be considered a front-runner to win it. That’s what winning 14 European titles does for a club’s reputation.
