Erling Haaland WILL Break Premier League Single-Season Goal Record

He has been the singing of the summer for me, and there’s still a few hours left in the window. Erling Haaland has been absolutely lethal for Manchester City during the club’s five opening Premier League games, and I think he’s destined to reach 40 Premier League goals to break the single-season all-time record.

I knew Erling Haaland was going to be great in this Manchester City side, but I didn’t think he would be THIS good.

Haaland has already scored 9 Premier League goals in only 5 Premier League games, overtaking another Man City legend, Sergio Aguero’s, 8 in his first five Premier League games, which was the previous Premier League record for goals scored in a debut players first five games.

Clearly, Haaland has taken to the English game far quicker than anyone expected as even the most diehard City fans couldn’t have predicted his excellent form. Nor could they have foreseen his pure domination of defenders.

I don’t think I’ve seen any striker just physically dominate some of the toughest Premier League defenders as effectively and quickly as Erling Haaland has been able to do.

Sure, City have yet to play any of the “Big 6” (or 5 in this case as City are one of the 6), but that doesn’t mean the defenders from Newcastle, West Ham, and Crystal Palaces are slouches either.

They may not have the ball-playing qualities or game-reading qualities that the “Big 6” defenders usually possess, but they are as every bit as physical and intimidating as their Top-6 counterparts.

Nevertheless, Erling Haaland dominated them as if they were children.

And that leads me to main point: Erling Haaland WILL break Alan Shearer’s 34 goal season with Blackburn Rovers back in the 1994/95 season by scoring 40+ with City this season.

If Haaland keeps this ungodly pace of 9 goals/games, he’ll finish the season with 70 goals. Yes, Erling Haaland would not only beat Alan Shearer’s record, but also double it if he continues his unprecedented goal-scoring prowess.

Alright, I don’t actually think he’s scoring 70 (at least I hope not as this season’s title race would be extremely boring), but he can score 40+ easily. As long as he keeps a 5 goals/5 games (aka: goal/game) pace, then he’ll end the season with 42 goals, breaking the Premier League single-season goal record by an impressive eight goals.

Will it be difficult? Yes. Is it possible for Haaland? Most definitely as this team will continue to feed him A+ chances every single game.
