God Of War Ragnarök Is Going To Be Epic

God of War Ragnarök (Sony/PlayStation-God of War Ragnarök-State Of Play Sep 2022 Story Trailer)

What an epic trailer that was. The new God of War Ragnarök trailer was as every bit as awe-inspiring, mystifying, and amazing as the characters and source material it derives from, thus giving me a lot of hope that this game is going to be epic.

And here I thought that the God of War series couldn’t get any better than God of War (2018). The new State of Play/Story Trailer (both are included in the title which is different; usually it’s just one or the other) for God of War: Ragnarök showcased many of the amazing scenery, graphics, new world spaces, enemies, and boss fights that we will face in the game. And let me just say that it was breathtaking.

The shots of Asgaard, Midgard, and the other locations that have not been named as of yet (I’m pretty sure I saw a fight that will take place in space) in this trailer looked amazing, which I hope will translate well on the PS5. There would be nothing worse if this new God of War game looked fantastic but could only run on 20 FPS. Thankfully, I have full faith that Sony and the developers of the game will not let that happen.

Anyway, this narrative will focus heavily on Kratos’ struggle with abandoning the ‘God of War’ mantle in order to be the father Atreus needs, while Atreus continues to yearn for the truths and mysterious behind the prophecy that his mother left for him in the last game. You know, the one that called him…Loki! The very same Loki that has been prophesized to bring about the doom of the Norse Gods known as ‘Ragnarök’.

Yeah, that’s definitely going to be important in this game.

Furthermore, I have a feeling that Kratos will realize that he must put aside his past of being a vicious, ruthless god-slayer in order to guide Atreus away from the destruction and doom he is prophesized to bring.

Will Kratos be able to do so? The only way to find out is by playing the game, which I sure play on doing.

Oh, and I should mention that there was an epic shot of Kratos fighting Thor (well, the fat verson of Thor that I still can’t wrap my head around) with Mjolnir and Kratos’ Leviathan Axe colliding into one another in mid-air. I can’t wait to fight the God of Thunder as Kratos come November.

Nevertheless, like I said, this game looks outstanding and I, among many other, have high expectations for it. I really do believe that it has the capability to become just as great as its predecessor and earn another Game of the Year nomination (if not a win) for this franchise.
