Ancient Apocalypse Isn’t Real…Right?

Ancient Apocalypse Isn't Real...Right? (Netflix-Ancient Apocalypse-Official Trailer)

There’re no way thousands of years of human history is wrong, right? Ancient Apocalypse completely challenges the foundational truths of human civilization’s development, which makes it either the most revolutionary or deluded show on Netflix.

I honestly can’t decide which one I believe about this show.  Now, I’ll be honest and say that I still haven’t seen the final episode, so I won’t cast my judgement about the show and Hancock (the presenter and the person who spearheaded this investigation in the first place) yet. I’ll do that when I finish Episode 10 in a few days.

Nevertheless, it’s still crazy to believe that every single historian, archeologist, paleontologist, etc. who has ever lived is tricking us and concealing evidence that there was a super advanced, Roman/Greek/Persian/Meso-American-like civilization that ruled the entire world during the Ice Age.

Not only would that cast into aspersion every single credible scientist that has studied these fields and all of their findings, but it would also fundamentally change how we evolved from living in caves to living in skyscrapers.

I mean, it just doesn’t make sense why thousands of scientists and scholars from all over the world would team up to trick the rest of us over such important information. To be honest, it makes more sense for one of those scientists to actually reveal this information as it would not only further their own careers but would also make them household names overnight.

So, that’s already a strike against Graham Hancock and Ancient Apocalypse.

Another strike is that he never actually shows any evidence for of his theories other than ancient stories, mythology, or the words of his ‘experts’. Now, I’m not trying to say that the people Hancock has brought on are lying or making everything up, but it’s true that he nor his experts didn’t provide any concrete tests or research results about the temples and ancient structures they spoke about.

For example, a discussion around the ancient Malta temples seen in Episode 3 insinuated that there was fossilized Neanderthal teeth (which shouldn’t be there as Malta was supposedly only migrated to after the extinction of the race) found in a nearby cave, which has been widely condemned and debunked by ‘mainstream’ scientist as fakes.

Yet, Hancock’s expert said that he performed his own expensive test results on the teeth, and they came back as authentic, but he NEVER SHOWED THE RESULTS! Maybe he’s telling the truth or maybe he’s lying, I don’t know. Though, I do know that I can’t even begin to believe him over accredited scientist as he failed to show concrete, paper proof of his teeth claims.

Strike 2.

Nonetheless, there were some compelling cases made by Hancock too. Namely, the strange fascination that many pre-Bronze Age cultures around the world had with building pyramids and their connection to astronomy.

It is weird how the Egyptians, Maltans, Meso-Americans, and Indonesians all had similar ways of reading and understanding the stars, though that might just be down to the simple fact that they all were living on the same planet and during a similar timeframe.

We are all humans after all, so it’s not out of the question that we would have similar methods to understanding complex subject matters such as Astronomy.

But that still doesn’t explain why so many of their mythology stories have giants teaching them how to build the pyramids/learn more about the sky and stars. Can that really be just a coincidence? Maybe.

Anyway, I’ll have more to say when I watch Episode 10 in a few days. The show is compelling if nothing else.
