Wait, Dan Snyder Is SELLING The Commanders?!?!

I can’t believe the NFL might have actually gotten Snyder to sell this team. Dan Snyder and the Washington Commanders have released bombshell news today as they have hired Bank of America to help them facilitate a sale of the franchise…maybe.

Well, it seems like Snyder’s dossier files report was all just a huge bluff as the Pariah of the NFL is now in the beginning process to selling the Washington Commanders franchise. It looked almost impossible a few weeks ago that Snyder would even get reprimanded for his allegedly illegal actions and conduct, let alone begin the process of selling his beloved (or so he says) Commanders.

And that’s why I don’t believe it’s happening.

First, it’s not entirely confirmed that Snyder is selling the team as his statement only said that he was working with Bank of America to “consider potential transactions” with the Commanders. Obviously, Snyder might just be trolling the league, the Washinton fans, and his fellow owners in some sick, twisted way to get back at them for ESPN ‘outing’ his years of blackmail.

This whole situation might be nothing more than Snyder refinancing some of the Commanders’ assets or him using Bank of AMerica to help accept a bid to bring along a junior/minority partner who has no chance of taking over the reins from Synder.

Or, what I fear could actually be true, Dan Snyder is employing Bank of America’s Securities division, which is known for helping NFL brands make major deals, in order to secure his position as the owner of the Commanders by building a brand-new stadium.

It’s already well-known that the Washington Commanders stadium, FedEx Field, is not only one of the oldest stadiums in the NFL (25 years old) but is also one of the least fan-friendly stadiums still around today. Under the stewardship of Dan Snyder, he’s allowed a once revolutionary stadium fall into disrepair as now the staff has been forced to cover large sections of seats with huge tarps as fan attendance has dramatically dropped.

If Snyder spends a few hundred million on a new stadium, it’ll be extremely unlikely that he will leave before he gets his entire Invesment back. Plus, building a new stadium might help sway some public opinion back in his favor, which would also hamper any chance of him being voted out by the other owners.

But, maybe I’m reading too much into this move and he really is selling the team. I know every NFL fan and especially Washington fans would be overjoyed if that happened, though I’m still not holding too much hope that he is.

Getting rid of a pariah isn’t easy in the first place and removing the Pariah of the NFL is bound to be tougher than just applying a little pressure with some ESPN investigative reports.

This news just sounds a little too good to be true.
