What A Shocker: Steve Nash Is OUT As Nets Coach…Yes, That’s Sacrasm

Obviously, this isn’t very shocking at all. The Brooklyn Nets have finally put head coach Steve Nash out of his misery as they fired the NBA legend after only seven games into the season, though they were a dreadful seven games.

Yeah, this Brooklyn Nets abomination needs to be set on fire and forgotten about as quickly as possible. Whatever Nets owner Joe Tsai and Nets GM Sean Marks were dreaming of when they signed Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, it’s turned into a full-blown nightmare as the Nets have slumped out of the gate to a 2-5 record after an offseason of turmoil.

Not only that, but Ben Simmons long awaited return to basketball has also proved to be a complete disaster as the former 76ers star has yet to score double digit points in a game. The Ben Simmons-James Harden trade is looking worse and worse for Sean Marks and Brooklyn with every second Ben Simmons is on the court, which is now in jeopardy as Simmons missed the Nets last game with ‘knee soreness’.

Plus, Kevin Durant, the Nets best player, doesn’t even want to be there. The only reason he’s still a Net is because he flippantly sold his basketball soul for four years to an organization that has been plagued with failures and misery ever since its inception.

Oh, and I haven’t even mentioned anything about Kyrie Irving’s latest controversy as he promoted (even if he doesn’t believe he did) a film with antisemitic takes and opinions (NOTE: I haven’t seen the film, so I’m just taking the reports about it at face value; but, I believe them).

Now, I agree with him with the respect that Amazon shouldn’t even have that film on their platform in the first place if it’s that bad, but I don’t agree with him when he says he’s not promoting it when he’s tweeting about it out of the blue.

That’s literally what promoting something is. Stop trying to act like you are smarter than everyone else, Kyrie. It doesn’t land when what you are saying is just blatantly wrong.

Everything about Brooklyn is toxic and an abomination to the sport of basketball. Thus, Steve Nash was always destined to fail.

How was Nash, a first-time head coach and recently retired player when he first signed, going to coach great players with such massive egos and star power and get them to work as a team? I don’t even think Greg Papovich, Phil Jackson, or Pat Rielly could have brought this group of players to the Conference Finals, let alone winning the NBA championship, when one of the star players (cough…Kyrie Irving…cough) said that the team doesn’t need a coach.

Even though the pieces were in place to have a championship winning roster, the heart and dedication of said players (aside from KD) was never brought to Brooklyn. Talent is worthless when dedication is nonexistent in a player.

Like I said, the Nets just have to accept the fact that they took a huge bet on the skills of Kyrie Irving and the generational talent and dedication of Kevin Durant to lead them to NBA glory but lost as Irving’s ego got the better of him and Durant’s unfortunate injuries took him out.

They should’ve traded Durant and Irving during the offseason when their trade value was through the roof. I guess that should be a lesson to all future owners and GMs not to be greedy.

I’m just glad that Steve Nash has finally ridden himself of that trainwreck and can enjoy his retirement as one of the greatest NBA point guards of all-time.
