Patriots Vs Bills: Bill Belichick Has Doomed Mac Jones And The Pats

This Patriots team is never making the playoffs with this coaching staff in charge. The Buffalo Bills showed why they have owned Bill Belichick and the Patriots in recent years as they dominated New England 24-10, proving Bill has lost the plot.

The Patriots have an extremely unbalanced team, and that was proven to a painful point against the Bills last night.

For all of Bill Belichick’s defensive greatness and genius, the offensive side of the ball was thankfully taken out of his hands for 20+ years during his reign as the New England head coach. Having accidently drafted the greatest quarterback of all-time, Tom Brady, with a 6th round pick back in 2000, the Patriots and Bill Belichick have never needed to worry about ‘offensive schemes for opposing teams’ or ‘developing a quarterback correctly’ as Brady covered those things already.

Brady had the genius mind to learn the most complicated systems and gameplans that his coordinators, such as Josh McDaniels, would develop for him, while he also already had the drive of a G.O.A.T. to succeeded in the NFL.

There was a balance to the Patriot Way that suited Belichick the best as he only had to worry about coming up with destructive and ingenious gameplans that would go on to win the Patriots 6 Super Bowls and bring them to an additional 3 more.

That’s no longer the case with Mac Jones and this current Patriots offense.

Now, I’m not saying Jones can’t be as great as Tom Brady, but I think it’s clear that he doesn’t have the mastery of the offense to compete on the level that Brady was able to during his first few seasons in the NFL. Yet, and even more pressing issues for Jones is the fact that he needs to be developed by a great offensive coordinator, and that’s where Belichick has doomed this Patriots team.

In his arrogance, Belichick thought he could just substitute past winning pieces of the Patriots Way all throughout the team without realizing that what made the Patriots Way was a harmonious balance of greatness on both sides of the ball, not some bastardized and compromised substitute for an OC and an offensive gameplan with two failed coaches.

Putting Matt Patricia and Joe Judge as Mac Jones’ “offensive coaches” (they’re don’t actually have the OC title) is as close to internal sabotage that any NFL head coach has ever done to a would-be winning team. Those two frauds should not be anywhere near an NFL offense, and that was proven by how dreadful they performed against the Bills.

The Patriots offense was woeful last night as they only managed to gain a total of 242 TOTAL offensive scrimmage yards, which was just 19 yards more than the Buffalo Bills gained by just passing the ball (223 total passing yards). It was pitiful to watch Rhamondre Stevenson (10 CAR, 57 yards) and Mac Jones (3 CAR, 7 yards) get suffered time and again on practically every single rushing play as the running game only contributed 60 total yards to the 242 grand total.

Oh, speaking of a rushing game and runners, Josh Allen was unstoppable again as the Patriots linebackers and defensive ends struggled to contain the Buffalo QB. Throwing 22/33 for 223 yards and 2 TDs and then rushing 8 times for 20 yards, Allen was picking apart the Patriots defense like it was nothing as he and Stefon Diggs (7 REC, 92 yards, 1 TD) racked up the score early an often.

Poor CB Jonathan Jones, whose been one of the better cornerbacks in the league this season, was simply unable to keep up with Diggs as the Bills receiver caught just about everything that was thrown his way when Jones was covering him. The best way to sum up how Jones’ night against Diggs went was the TD catch.

Diggs sent Jones back to Auburn with a dirty outside cut that allowed Allen to just toss a lob pass to Diggs in the back of the endzone to make it 10-7, which is a lead the Bills never gave up.

To be honest, I think Josh Allen has utterly stumped and broken Bill Belichick as this is the third consecutive season the Bills have won against the Patriots in Foxborough.  Allen is just too big, too strong, and has too accurate of an arm for Belichick’s defense to do anything to beat him.

Hey, at least Belichick got him off the field on a few occasions to punt the ball this time, though the Pats offense did absolutely nothing to capitalize on those chances.

You know, I think I’m having an epiphany on Mac Jones. At the beginning of the season, I thought it was clear that the former Alabama QB was regressing before our eyes due to the horrible throws he was making…and that was true to a certain extent. Jones was making some dreadful throws and decisions, but a lot of those choices must have been made out of the realization that he’s the only person on offense that can win the game for NE.

I have been very lenient towards Matt Patricia and Joe Judge as they have been winning a few games these recent weeks, but no more. These two clowns have to go as they not only have ruined the Patriots offense with a stupid, predictable offensive scheme, but they are also actively destroying Mac Jones.

It was clear through some of Jones’ 50-yard backfield scrambles that he’s the only player/coach on the offensive side of the ball that actual wants to win. Yet, that can’t happen with Matt Patricia and Joe Judge coaching him and giving the offense the gameplan scheme to execute week after week

Either the two clowns have to go or it’s time to say goodbye to Bill Belichick as the Patriots (6-6) head coach. Us Patriots fans thank him for all of the memories and great moments, but even the greats have to say goodbye at some point. And that point seems to be growing ever closer.

As for Buffalo (9-3), this is what they can do to teams when they are healthy. Now that they are tied with the Dolphins for the AFC East division lead, they might be able to avoid the dreaded away Wild Card game.
