Spurs Are Free Falling…

This is only going to end one way if nothing changes quickly. Antonio Conte and Spurs are under massive pressure from their own fans after they got utterly blown out by their archrivals Arsenal in the North London Derby.

It is the same old, same old for Spurs every single year.

After getting off to a relatively hot start, the wheels have absolutely spun off the Antonio Conte-Spurs wagon as the club now finds itself 5 points off Manchester United in 4th place, despite having played a game more than the Manchester club and being in the Champions League places prior to the World Cup break. Like I said, you can honestly write the story of the Spurs year after year season before they even play a minute of football.

Now, it’s obvious Antonio Conte is on his last nerve with this team and club as he’s been super noncommittal about his future this offseason (as he always is when things don’t go his way), while he has also quite brutal in his assessment of where he thinks he can take Spurs this season.

Unlike most managers who say whatever they can to make their situations seem as rosy as possible, Conte has repeatedly said that last season’s finish in the Champions League places was just a miracle and that he didn’t have the squad depth needed to compete against the bigger clubs of England, let alone beat them to the Top-4 sports.

Obviously, Spurs fans have taken that rhetoric about as well as a crack addict getting the news that their dealer ran out as they have been berating the Spurs manager both online and during every Spurs home game.

And, to be honest, it’s kind of deserved. As a football fan, you don’t want to hear your beloved team’s manager go on and on about how competing with the “Traditional Big 6” (well, Big 5 in this case) is impossible and how you shouldn’t expect Champions League football, even though Spurs are a Big 6 team and they are currently in the Champions League.

You want to hear how Conte is trying to compete with the best clubs in the Premier League.

Honestly, Conte is just giving excuses as to why he can’t manage this horrible roster of players to his high standard of title-winning football.

Though, as I said, you can’t blame Conte entirely for the downfall of Spurs as the core of this roster is rottener than Maleficent from Snow White. If (more likely when) Conte leaves Spurs, he will be the third world class coach that failed to bring success to Tottenham.

If the core group of players, namely Harry Kane, Heung Min-Son, Eric Dier, Hugo Lloris, Ben Davies, can’t win trophies under nearly 8 years of managers like Mauricio Pochettino, Jose Mourinho, and Antonio Conte, then these guys will never win. And I think the Spurs fans realize that with their visible and audible frustrations, which should have Daniel Levy very worried.

As, if he is forced to sack/let go yet another great manager, then he’s going to find himself on the Spurs chopping block along with a handful of the guys I’ve mentioned.

Something has to change in the White Side of North London…and fast!
