This Aaron Rodgers Hate Is Out Of Control

Why has the whole world all of a sudden turned against Aaron Rodgers? Aaron Rodgers is getting a ridiculous amount of hate and criticism from ex-players and the media alike over comments that he still believes he can play at an MVP level.

This is honestly insane.

Aaron Rodgers is getting ruthlessly dragged through the mud over some of the most benign comments I’ve ever heard, despite the fact that he and the Packers are out of the playoffs and shouldn’t be on anyone’s radar.

So, for those who don’t know, Aaron Rodgers made some “controversial” comments during his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show when he said that he can win another MVP as long as he’s in the right situation/team after being asked about a possible move out of Green Bay and his future plans in football.

And, in response to said comments, the media world and some ex-NFL players have absolutely gone bananas and have accused Rodgers of only caring about himself and his own personal achievements rather than trying to win another Super Bowl. Surprisingly, even the great Rob Gronkowski came out of the woodworks to bash Aaron Rodgers for “thinking about MVPs” over winning the Super Bowl.

Can you see why this “controversy” is so crazy and just flat out stupid?

First off, Rodgers never said that he cares about winning MVP awards more than winning the Super Bowl. He actually said quite the opposite as he expressed his desire to return to the Packers only if they wanted him back and if he felt his body and mind were capable of embarking on another NFL season.

The MVP comment came after he talked about wanting to win it all with the Packers or another team if Green Bay decided to move on from him, which clearly shows he’s putting more thought into winning another Super Bowl than another MVP award.

Still, even if Rodgers did say that he was only concerned about winning the MVP award for a record-breaking 5th time, that doesn’t mean it’s at the expense of the Packers Super Bowl aspirations. Forgive me if I’m wrong, but I was under the impression that the playoffs and Super Bowl came after the regular season.

Plus, I was also under the impression that in order for teams to get the best possible seeding in the playoffs, the players would need to play at MVP-like level in their, respective, positions to ensure their team wins enough games for the best seeding. That is how the NFL has worked these past 100+ years, right?

I mean, The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles didn’t earn the #1 seed in their, respective, conferences with Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts playing like garbage. No, there’s a reason why these two are the leading MVP candidates for this past season.

Obviously, the Packers need Aaron Rodgers to play at an MVP level, like he did in the 2020 and 2021 seasons (Green Bay finished 13-3 both seasons), instead of the average year he had this season (Green Bay finished 8-9 and missed the playoffs) as that clearly wasn’t good enough for a Super Bowl run.

To be honest, this is just another Rodgers media storm trying to discredit and mischaracterize the quarterback over some perceived slight he committed against the powerful media entities. I know that may sound a little conspiratorial, but it’s the only way I can describe such a media frenzy over begin comments.
