Liverpool OBLERTIRATED Man United, SPANKED THEM 7-0

I though United was over these EMBARRASING losses?!?!?! Liverpool showed they are still the nightmare of every United fan’s dreams as they SPANKED Man Utd 7-0 at Anfield, leaving the Reds just 3 points off the Top-4.

This is going to be a really rough couple of days a Man United fan.

In what has to be the biggest shock of the season for both teams, Liverpool absolutely steamrolled Manchester United 7-0 in a game where Liverpool lead 1-0 at halftime.

Yes, you read that right. Liverpool was up 1-0 at half time and easily could have found themselves either tied 1-1 or even down 2-1 as United had some great chances with Marcus Rashford’s one vs. one miss, Bruno Fernades’ header that just missed going in the far post, Wout Weghorst’s shot being blocked from going in an empty goal, and Casemiro had a goal disallowed in the 41′ minute as he was offside.

I’m not saying that United should have won this game (obviously), but the 7-0 scoreline was extremely unfair for how the first half played out. Liverpool did dictate most of the play and they also had a few chances (such as Nunez’s shot being blocked by Martinez right in front of de Gea) before Cody Gakpo scored his first goal of the game in the 43rd minute, but to win by seven is unjust.

Okay, I know I’m sounding extremely biased as a United fan, but anyone who watched the game from the first minute to the last (no matter how painful or joyful it was) would see that Man Utd had the WORST LUCK EVER in the second half. Not only did United screw themselves over by missing three “A+” chances (with one of them being the offside goal), but at least half of Liverpool’s goals came from an egregious mistake, strange bounce, or extremely lucky turn of events.

Nunez’ first goal (Liverpool’s 2nd) came from the ball bouncing off Luke Shaw’s thigh and into the path of Harvey Elliot (who immediately crossed the ball to Nunez), Gakpo’s second goal (Liverpool’s 3rd) came because Martinez fell down when defending Salah (though, I guess you could say Salah caused him to fall before slipping in Gakpo), Salah’s first goal (Liverpool’s 4th) came from a pass cut out by Mctominay, but it deflected back into Nunez’s path to pass back to an open Salah, and Salah’s second goal (Liverpool’s 6th) came from Luke Shaw clearing the ball into the back of Firmino and it deflected into Salah’s path.

Sure, some of the goals I listed may still have gone in without the fortunate luck, but this game should still have ended 4-2 or 4-1 and not the utterly embarrassing 7-0 Liverpool victory.

Liverpool played fantastic, but Manchester United made this game a lot easier for them with their mistakes and just downright bad luck.

Though, I do have to say that the way the United players gave up all reason and discipline in the final 20 minutes was completely unacceptable.

To resort to giving up cheap, silly hard fouls, brainlessly rushing forward for a “consolation goal” when the score is 5-0, and to stop tracking back on defense is not only ridiculously stupid, but also a sign that these players still needed a lesson in humiliation before they will win major trophies. I praised these players when they won the Carabao Cup and ended Man United’s 6-year long trophy drought, so I must criticize them when they give up and play like crap.

Nonetheless, this was just one game…and both sides should remember that.

Liverpool are still 3 points outside the Top-4 and have games against Chelsea, Arsenal, West Ham, and Spurs in their next six fixtures and are down 5-2 in their Champions League tie to Real Madrid, while Man United is still 7 points ahead of Liverpool in 3rd place and is in the Europa League Round of 16 and FA Cup Quarterfinals.

This was result was really shocking and either embarrassing or hilarious for certain sides of the Premier League fanbases, but it’s no way indicative of how each team’s, respective, season has gone.

But, I’d better hear stories about how these United players had to run 7-10 miles during Monday’s training session as this result cannot happen again. Ever.

As for Liverpool, this result should boost their momentum and confidence going into the games against Real Madrid, Chelsea, Arsenal, West Ham, and Spurs. Or, at the very least, serve as a happy bookmark YouTube video to come back and watch every now and again.
