When Is Grand Theft Auto VI Coming Out?

If you can believe it, it’s been over half a year since all of those leaks dropped. Rockstar have been as tipped lipped as a criminal in an interrogation room over Grand Theft Auto VI as even though numerous leaks were made public last year, nothing official has been said about the game yet.

You really have got to hand it to Rockstar over how secretive and quiet they’ve been with GTA 6.

It took a great (but not very wise) hacker from one of the most notorious hacking groups in the world to pry some information out of Rockstar regarding the most anticipated game of whatever year it comes out, Grand Theft Auto VI. Like I said, that’s a testament to how hush-hush Rockstar have been with their lucrative, ground-breaking IP.

The predecessor to Grand Theft Auto VI, everyone’s beloved Grand Theft Auto V, not only is one of the most critically acclaimed games of all-time with a whopping 11 major awards across the major award outlets, but it also was the second-highest selling game of the 2010’s decade with over 115M copies sold (it has a grand total of 175M copies sold). Pretty impressive, right?

So, just for comparison, every single major Call of Duty release of the 2010’s decade (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Call of Duty Black Ops 2, and Call of Duty: Ghosts) fall short of GTA V’s sales, all the major RPG games of the decade (The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt, Red Dead Redemption 2, Fallout 4), and even all of Rockstar’s own games (Red Read Redemption 1, Red Dead Redemption 2, LA Noire, Max Payne 3) fell collectively short if GTA V’s sales.

That’s how huge the GTA brand is.

Thus, I think we’re all excused for being a little anxious and eager for information about the 2nd most popular game of all time, right?

Aside from the somewhat unverified (but probably true) leaks about the main characters, story, gameplay, character arcs, etc., Rockstar still have not even put out a teaser trailer or sneak peek image of the new Vice City-ahem, excuse me-the new setting. Okay, if the leaks are true as Rockstar said (which I’m still not sure as they are known to play mind games with these things), then its looks like we’re heading back to Vice City.

Anyway, I don’t see why Rockstar, after a full decade of Grand Theft Auto V being out (the game was released in 2013), hasn’t even given us a glimpse into the new game. I hope I speak for the majority of people when I say that we’re not asking for a full trailer like Bethesda did with The Elder Scrolls VI (funny, these 6th titles never seem to come out), but rather just an image or a conference/showcase to present some of the early footage.

I know Rockstar had its hands tied a few years ago with the huge release of Red Dead Redemption 2, which ended up being the 8th most sold game (26.5M copies) in the 2010’s decade despite being released in October of 2019, but it’s going to be a full 4 years since the release of RDR2 in October of this year.

Surely, after 10 long years of waiting, Rockstar could have given us just a morsal of information about GTA VI?

I’m sorry that I sound like an addict begging for his next prescription pill delivery, but GTA V is one of my favorite games of all-time (as it is for many other).

So, Rockstar, would you kindly put this fool out of his misery and give us a small snit-bit into the new game as soon as possible?
