When Is The Elder Scrolls 6 Actually Coming?

Another Bethesda E3 (it still is practically E3, even if nobody is calling it that this year) come and gone, and another year without any news on Elder Scrolls 6. It really makes me wonder why Bethesda even released that 30-second landscape trailer 4 years ago in the first place. Clearly, Elder Scrolls 6 was still at least another half decade away from launch.

Still, it does no good to whine about the release date as it doesn’t bring it any closer to our Xboxes, Pcs, PlayStations (maybe), VR sets, refrigerator tablets, or how many other variations of devices that game will inevitably go on. If you thought Bethesda was going overboard with Skyrim, then you will be blown away with the Elder Scrolls 6. It is going to be everywhere. Just wait and see.

I just really thought that this was going to be the year the god that is Todd Howard would finally show us something else other than the 30-second-long shot of the High Rock coastline (yes, I think has got to be High Rock; the music and rocky geography just fit perfectly for the Breton’s homeland).

It has been 11 years since Skyrim officially was released, 8 years since Elder Scrolls Online came out, and 4 since that trailer was unveiled. It has been a long time, clearly. And with the utter launch failure that was Fallout 76, it has been an excruciating, miserably long time for Bethesda fans.

This would have been a great time to release some new footage, or gameplay, or cinematics, or news, or anything related to the Elder Scrolls 6. Can you imagine the celebrations that would have occurred in the livestream chats if Bethesda not only ended their showcase on Starfield’s gameplay reveal, but also a new trailer for the Elder Scrolls. All the negative publicity, all the complaints, all the backlash Bethesda has received in recent years would have been forgotten in an instant

It would have been epic, for both us and Bethesda.

But, alas, I guess we will have to wait another year and for another Bethesda E3 showcase for some Elder Scrolls 6 content. Hey, don’t worry, life isn’t too bad for Elder Scrolls fans right now. ESO: High Isle has already been released for PC and in another week it will be on Xbox and PlayStation. That should be good to tide us over for another few months while we wait.

And, as Todd would want, you can always just load up your trusty old copy of Skyrim for your 10,574 playthrough of the main quest, every side quest, and all your mods. It just works.

PS: Bethesda, for our sakes, please release this game while Skyrim Grandma is still with us. Clearly, nothing would make her happier (see GameRant link for more).
