Enola Holmes 2 Trailer #2 Looks Pretty Interesting…

Enola Holmes 2 (Netflix-Enola Holmes 2-Official Trailer: Part 2)

Enola Holmes has gotten into trouble with influential people…again. Millie Bobby Brown is back as Enola Holmes in Enola Holmes 2 as it seems the young heroine has run into another mystery involving only the most powerful people in late 1800’s England.

I’m glad the Enola Holmes character has been brought back for another rendition as I really enjoyed Enola Holmes 1.

Sure, it wasn’t perfect as the plot kind of dragged a little in the first movie, but I really liked Millie Bobby Brown as the younger, feisty sister of the famous detective, Sherlock Holmes. Plus, Henry Cavil as the detective and Sam Claflin as Mycroft Holmes, the middle child of the Holmes family, were both brilliant and interesting in their own right.

Especially Mycroft. Out of all of the Holmes, I definitely saw myself in him the most in these investigative situations: confused, shocked, aloof (to the mystery/detective aspect of the world) and just utterly clueless to dangers of the Sherlock Holmes world.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like he is going to be in this newest entry, which is really kind of sad.

Anyway, it appears like the rest of the cast will be involved in this adventure as Enola has stumbled into some huge, upper-class conspiracy that will even interest her legendary brother. Obviously, the trailer didn’t spoil anything about the plot, but by the way Enola described this conspiracy to be ‘deadly’ and a ‘secret with the high society’ and involving a ‘factory girl’, that kind of narrows the mystery down.

If I had to guess, which I kind of do, I’d say these businessmen of the upper class are developing something in their factories (such as a gas, a pollutant, a weapon, etc.) that is not only harmful to their workers, but also the Industrial Age London community as a large. Or something like that.

As for the main star herself, Millie Bobby Brown, it’s good to see her back as Enola. She brings the wittiness, stubbornness, fierceness, elegance, and self-confidence out of Enola, while also being skillful enough to portray the youngest Holmes in a self-doubting light. Even the most confident people in the world harbor lingering doubts about themselves, and Enola Holmes is no different.

And Millie Bobby Brown has always been the best actress to get that perfect balance out of the character.

Nonetheless, I can’t wait for this to drop on Netflix November 4th. Hopefully this one is just as much of a success as the previous rendition and Netflix decides to make this franchise into a series.

A series about Sherlock Holmes, Enola Holmes, Industrial Era England, Jack the Ripper (who was around during this time), other famous mysteries from the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle novels, and the intricacies of the British Empire, with Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavil as its stars? What could be better than that?

Make it happen, Netflix. We all want it.
