And Now Manchester United Wants To Terminate Ronaldo’s Contract

Yeah, it was always destined to end like this. Reports are swirling that Manchester United and the Glazer family have initiated the beginning steps of terminating Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract in the wake of his viral interview.

Out of all the ‘shocking revelations’ that Ronaldo told to the world these past two days, this news story is definitely not on that level. It’s very rare that an employee doesn’t get immediately canned after openly condemning and criticizing their boss on an international stage, so it was kind of obvious that this was the only path forward between Ronaldo and Man United.

I mean, I’m sure everyone would love to lash out and publicly denounce their boss to millions of people without any consequence, but that’s not realistic. I would have been more shocked if United allowed Ronaldo to even step foot back in Manchester after the things he said about the club’s hierarchy and manager Erik ten Hag.

If Ronaldo was just some cashier at a McDonalds and the Glazers were the owners of that specific McDonalds franchise, then he would have gotten fired as soon as he opened his mouth to Piers Morgan. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if they fired him as soon as the thought of coming forward to Morgan entered his brain as the Glazers are not a family/ownership that deals with internal disobedience lightly.

There’s a reason why they only have hired bankers, financiers, and other close associates of theirs from their real estate days for the chief operating positions of the club during their tenure, while people who would have dissented to their stewardship, such as Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho, have been (or will be) culled out.

Now, there’s nothing wrong with promoting loyal, trustworthy people to positions of power, but their biggest problem is that they have promoted utter buffoons to the CEO, CFO, Director of Football, and other important positions. But, that’s a story for another day as the only reason why Ronaldo hasn’t joined the list of departed United employees is due to his financial and global situation.

In other words, the guys making too much money and has too much fame to just terminate his contract as they would if it was a youth player or squad player. That’s why Man United have ‘initiated appropriate steps’ and enlisted legal advice in regard to Ronaldo’s interview as it is just code for them trying to cut him and his £500,000/week contract in a legal, most cost-effective way possible.

To that one fan who still believes there’s a way back, there’s not. Just give up that hope.

So, we’ll see where CR7 winds up once club football starts back up post the Qatar World Cup as he’s certainly going to be available on a free come January.
