Zach Wilson Is IN TROUBLE…

Is it already over for the BYU Cougar in the Big Apple? After a horrific game against the New England Patriots, Jets HC Robert Salah made some massive news by publicly refusing to say if Zach Wilson will start next week for New York.

Zach Wilson really brought all of this upon himself.

Not only did he look like a headless chicken the past two games the Jets have played against the Patriots, but he also refused to take any responsibility for the ineptitude the Jets offense showed yesterday. I mean, when the offense you run only has 101 total yards of offense and earned -2 yards in the second half, you should be begging to go in front of the media/locker room to take responsibility.

But not the BYU Cougar.

Nope, when asked directly by the New York media after the game if he felt responsible/took responsibility for the dreadful showing every Jets fan watched yesterday, Wilson flat out said, “No.” That’s it. One quick, swift, definitive, dismissive word to deflect all of the blame.

And it might be the last public word Wilson will say as the starting Jets QB.

Almost immediately after this response went viral and made its way across the NFL world, a lot of rumblings coming out of the Jets locker room essentially sounded like the team was rebelling against their 2nd overall pick QB for his lack of accountability.

Then, during a postgame press conference today, Robert Salah pretty much confirmed these rumblings as true as he flat out refused to commit to Wilson as the starting QB and opened the floodgate for the starting QB speculation that everyone is engaging in now.

And I don’t blame him or the Jets players. Zach Wilson was HORRIBLE yesterday but refused to take any accountability for it.

Completing just 9/22 pass for a measly 77 yards and 0 TDs, Wilson had one of the all-time worst QB performances I’ve seen since the start of the decade. The Jets offense would have been better run by a sack of potatoes sitting under center than it was with Wilson yesterday as at least it would not have gone for -2 yards in 30 minutes of football.

And I mean that seriously. Wilson was that pathetic as he not only took countless sacks, but he also missed easy throw after easy throw.

Sure, Wilson was right when he said in his postgame press conference that it was ‘windy as hell out there, man’ but it’s true for both teams. The wind wasn’t only affecting you, Zach. It affected Mac Jones and the Patriots throwing game just as much.

So, to put how bad Wilson did into perspective, his opponent, Mac Jones, completed 23/27 passes for 246 yards in the same ‘destructive New England windstorm’ that Zach Wilson was moaning and groaning about after the game, clearly showing that the Jets problem wasn’t the wind. It was Wilson and his wind-riddled noodle arm.

We’ll see if Robert Salah give Wilson one last chance to prove he’s an NFL starting QB against the Bears this Sunday, but if he does, then Wilson better be prepared to play the game of his life. His NFL career might literally be on the line if he fails to impress…again.

It seems like the Jets are about to add another fallen QB helmet to their wall of QB’s the franchise has destroyed. Though, this time it wasn’t even their fault. They just failed to scout properly.
