The Commanders Have OFFICIALLY Been Sold To Harris Group

The Pariah is at last expelled from the NFL. The NFL and the 31 remaining owners unanimously approved the sale of the Washington Commanders to the Josh Harris bidding group for a new selling record of $6.05B.

We can all take a big sigh of relief with Dan Snyder finally out of the picture.

After a highly contentious and bitter battle over the sale of the Washington Commanders franchise, the sale of the Commanders was officially approved by the NFL and the 31 other owners to the bidding group lead by Josh Harris for a North American fee of $6.05B. And, if you couldn’t tell, I’m absolutely elated for the NFL and the Commanders fans!

For the last 24 years, the Washington Commanders franchise has been utterly debased and corrupted from the malignant influence of Daniel Snyder and his cronies as they’ve not only destroyed the on-field product from a Super Bowl contending team to a rudderless wreck, but he’s also brought shame to the franchise with his numerous sexual misconduct allegations, assault allegations, and spying concerns.

It’s really been a doomsday scenario for all Commanders fans born before 1999 and a world where Sauron won the Lord of the Rings scenario for everyone born after 1999 as the Commanders have simply been dragged through the mud repeatedly and relentlessly. Yet, those days are finally over as Daniel Snyder’s reign of terror is done and the forces of good have prevailed.

Well, that last statement might be a bit of an exaggeration as its more like the forces of greed prevailed over Synder’s reign of terror, but that’s beside the point as Daniel Snyder is OUT AS THE OWNER OF THE WASHINGTON COMMANDERS.

Now, I would be lying if I told you I was super familiar with Josh Harris and his major billionaire partner Michael Rales, but the first impressions these two gave off were definitely positive ones.

In the introduction interviews and press conferences, Harris expressed how excited he was to be a part of the team, how he’s a massive fan of the franchise, how “but being a fan is not enough. To be successful, we need to win championships, create a positive impact on the community and create incredible memories for our fan base much like I had as a youth growing up in Washington,” and that he’s expressly not Daniel Snyder.

Nevertheless, the quote that I really appreciated from all of his interviews and quotes was the fact that he’s an actual fan of the franchise and originally from the Washington/Maryland area as that’s such a massive part in being a good team owner.

I wholeheartedly believe that if you want to be a good, memorable owner that the fans love and adore, you need to be one of two things: 1. a lifelong fan of the franchise/born in the franchise’s area so you can understand the fanbase, or 2. be very invested in the, respective, sport you are buying a team and be actively involved in the operations of the franchise.

Josh Harris and Michael Rales (who is also from Maryland) seem like two people who fit both qualifications.

Still, even if Harris and/or Rales don’t take active roles in the operations of the franchise, that’s where their other major partner, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, steps in as Magic is a sports icon. Already one of the Top-10 greatest basketball players to have ever lived, Magic has used his brilliant business savvy mind to build $100M+ valued companies, a massive fortune of $100M+, and invest his money into major sports teams such as the Los Angeles Dodgers (MLB), Los Angeles Sparks (WNBA), and Los Angeles FC (MLS).

Oh, and he’s also gone on to win a World Series (2020), WNBA championship (2016), and an MLS Cup (2022) with his, respective, franchises. Magic can make up for any deficiencies Harris and Rales have in the sports management side of things and then some.

All in all, this is just a fantastic day for the Washington Commanders and their fans!
