This is just getting ridiculous. The Philadelphia 76ers STILL have James Harden moping and moseying around the team facilities after his public outbursts, and it’s honestly just getting a little too ridiculous.
Philly just needs to move on.
Despite demanding out and ranting on and on about the management, James Harden is still on the Philadelphia 76ers roster…and still causing trouble and breaking up the harmony of the team. And, I really think that even though it will hurt Philly financially, they have to just move on from the team-killer that is James Harden.
Alright, now I know a lot of 76ers fans probably won’t agree with me as they either really like James Harden (which is probably just the local Philly donkey at this point) or they want to see Harden punished by having him miss out as many games and game checks as possible, but this saga is becoming nauseating. And it’s only going to hurt Philly in the long run.
I don’t know if people have seen the news, but the NBA is now investigating the 76ers and James Harden…AGAIN…due to the team not only demoting Harden to the stands for their season opening two-game road trip, but also not even allowing him on the team flight.
Seriously, they had security members of the team stop Harden, who was fully packed and ready to go on the trip despite missing practice for Harden reasons, refuse him entry on the team plane, and then had him stay in Philadelphia as the rest of the 76ers organization left for Milwaukee.
Why? Well, it’s because of the new “load management” rule that is trying to prevent these superstar players from simply not playing basketball due to them “needing a rest”.
Sure, I get injured players and guys who have played 70+ games in a season needing to take a game or two off every few months or so. Perfectly fine. But someone who is getting paid tens of millions and only played in 50 or so games? No way in hell should they be given a “load management” break.
Anyway, back to Harden and the 76ers, even though this is really funny and pretty comical from a neutral perspective, this nonsense can’t continue if you’re in the Philadelphia management hierarchy. It’s not good to reward bad behavior and especially not behavior that sabotages the team bond and spirit as the team-killer Harden has done, but you also can’t allow Harden to break up the Philly roster by just being on the team.
His presence is an unmitigated burden for everyone, and the media and fans will CONSTANTLY ask people like reigning NBA MVP Joel Embiid, GM Daryl Morrey, and owner Josh Harris why the 2018 MVP is still on the team and when he will be reinstated in the starting lineup. It’s just a headache no one in Philadelphia needs to go through, and especially not when Harden’s “punishment” has already been dished out…by Harden himself.
What team in the league is going to want to trade for James Harden now? A man who has not only been one of the most destructive, selfish, arrogant, and team-destroying forces the NBA has ever seen, but who has also been one of the biggest chokers in NBA history.
James Harden has EPICLY choked in the playoffs EVERYWHERE he’s gone…and that’s a lot of places as he forced his way out of Houston, Brooklyn, and now wants out of Philadelphia. Only in Oklahoma City did he not demand a trade, which is mainly due to him being the 3rd wheel to Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.
Wherever James Harden has been made the focal point and/or face of the franchise, he has abused his power and forced his teammates and team to adhere to his selfish wishes with the threat of going A.W.O.L. if they did not. Maybe I’m being too harsh on Harden and he’s actually a very pleasant guy in real life, but I doubt it.
Anyways, back to my point, Harden has destroyed his own market with his outbursts and temper tantrums as not even the LA Clippers, a team addicted to overpaying for outdated, injury prone, and generally unmotivated superstars in its history, want to bring in James Harden anymore. The man has burnt all of his bridges…and now it’s coming back to haunt him as he’s stranded on Philadelphia island.
So, in my humble, uneducated opinion, the 76ers just need to cut ties with Harden and let him move on to his next destination for the good of the team.
