The Hornets Need To Get Rid Of Miles Bridges…

This guy is a walking arrest warrant. The Charlotte Hornets really just need to move off on from Miles Bridges as the forward has AGAIN been accused of breaking the law and is due for ANOTHER court date.

What a disaster this guy is making of his life.

Despite already being convicted and charged with a no-contest domestic violence offense back in 2022 and issued an arrest warrant early January 2023, Miles Bridges is back under the judicial spotlight as he’s been accused of breaking a domestic violence protective order, property damage, and misdemeanor child abuse. And, in my opinion, the Hornets just need to cut all ties with this guy.

If you thought that Ja Morant was acting up and brought the league into disrepute, then Miles Bridge might be the single-most destructive current look on the NBA’s reputation as he just can’t keep from breaking the law.

As I wrote a few sentences ago, Bridges was already CONVICTED of a no-contest (which just means he accepted the conviction and sentence, but would not be forced to admit guilt…which is kind of strange as to why you’d accept a punishment then, but whatever) domestic violence offense in June 2022 for assaulting his girlfriend in front of their children AND was issued an arrest warrant in January 2023 for an unrelated offense.

I mean, that’s more arrest warrants and run ins with the law than most hardcore drug dealers see in their lifetimes!

Okay, being serious, Miles Bridges is clearly not in a stable headspace to be anywhere near the NBA and the stadiums, let alone have a roster spot on one of the 32 NBA franchises, as in this latest accusation, he is being accused of violating a domestic violence protective order, property damage, and misdemeanor child abuse chargers in the form of him throwing billiard balls at a “woman’s” (it’s his ex-girlfriend) car during a custody exchange while two children (their children) were in it.

Oh, and according to the report, he also was screaming, kicking the car, and said that he would “”take everything from her and withhold child support” if she called the police on him.

Now, in the US, everyone is innocent until proven guilty and I’m not saying that Bridges is guilty of these actions. But, seeing how he has a long, detailed track record of arrests and domestic violence abuses against his partners, I’m definitely not placing any bets on him being innocent. That’s all I’m saying.

Nevertheless, back to the Hornets, if I was in charge of the team, I would move on from Bridges in a heartbeat as the guy is just far too problematic to justify keeping around. Not only has his past criminal history brought disrepute on the Hornets franchise and the NBA, but he’s also not been a productive forward for the team as he’s only ever averaged more than 20 PPG in a season once in his career and he missed all of last season through his checkered off court issues.

And, with Brandon Miller, Lamelo Ball, P.J. Washington, and Mark Williams all being far more valuable, experienced (except for Miller as he’s a rookie), and productive young players, there’s no reason to keep the troubled Bridges around.

I’m not saying the NBA should blacklist him forever, but Miles Bridges needs to figure out his life before he can suit up for an NBA team again.
