This team is going to win the World Series. The Philadelphia Phillies are utterly tearing through all of their opposition this postseason as they’re only two games away from a second-straight World Series title berth.
Only an unforeseen collapse can take down this team.
In what has to be one of the most dominate playoff run in the last decade, the Philadelphia Phillies have been tearing through their competition and are only two wins away from making it straight back to where they left off from the 2022 World Series. And, to be honest, I think this team is going to CRUISE to a WS title playing like this.
HOLY HELL ARE THE PHILLIES INSANE!
If you haven’t been watching the Phillies this postseason, then I don’t know what the hell you were doing as this is not only the most exciting and in-form team right now, but they also are easily the favorites to win the World Series after they DESTROYED the Arizona Diamondback 10-0 last night. Yes, you’re reading that right, the Phillies scored 10 straight, unanswered runs on the Diamondbacks faces and then spit in them too when they were done for good effect.
That’s how dominating this team has been.
In the last two NLCS games against Arizona, the Phillies have scored a combined 14 runs, have racked up 20 hits, they’ve hit 6 home runs, they’ve only given up 3 runs against and 8 hits, and they’ve run riot through the Diamondbacks bullpen as four (Zac Gallen, Miguel Castro, Joe Mantiply, Ryne Nelson) of the nine featured Diamondback pitchers have ERAs of 4.00 and WORSE! That’s 44% of their featured pitchers!
And the Diamondbacks hitting has been quite dreadful too as you could probably guess as they only had four hits in their 5-3 Game 1 loss to the Phillies two nights ago, while last night they also got four hits…but were destroyed 10-0. I know Philly is a hard place to play and especially so when the Phillies are on fire as they are now, but the Diamondbacks finished the year with the 14th most runs in baseball (746), 4th best strikeout against record (1,247), and the 14th best batting average (.250).
Again, the Diamondbacks were not world beaters or anything given their record of 84-78 and barely squeaking into the postseason, but they are just getting shutdown by the Phillies pitchers, primarily Zack Wheeler, Aaron Nola, Ranger Suarez, and Jordan Alvarado, and then smacked up by Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, Trea Turner, Nick Castellanos, etc.
I mean, the it’s insane how lethal the Phillies hitting has been as four guys (Harper, Schwarber, Turner, Castellanos) have over 7 individual runs, four guys (Harper, Turner, Schwarber, and J.T. Realmutto) have 9 or more hits, four guys (Harper, Realmutto, Castellanos, and Bryson Scott) have 7 or more RBIs, the entire team has 19 home runs, 46 RBIs, 19 doubles, 46 runs, and an ASTONISHING 74 hits.
That’s 9 more than the Texas Rangers, 22 more than the Diamondbacks, and 47 MORE than the defending World Series champions and final CS team Houston Astros. Can you see why this team might be on a historic run?
This team is on pace to have over 100 hits in a single postseason…and they have only played in 8 games this postseason. They destroyed the Marlins 11-2 in a two game Wild Card series sweep, they beat down the NL-best Atlanta Braves 20-8 in a 3-1 series victory in the Divisional series, and they’re now up 15-3 and poised to sweep the Diamondbacks if they win the next two games in the NLCS.
And, seeing how the Rangers and Astros games are close-fought, one-score affairs (that the Texans keep winning), I don’t see how any one of the remaining teams can defeat the Phillies so long as the Phillies hitters stay hotter than the sun!
