What the hell is wrong with Marvel? Seriously?!?! The latest Captain America sequel, Brave New World, has been delayed by a whole year as the film is getting extensive reshoots and rewrites from the MCU in the wake of The Marvels’ failure.
I really don’t know how Marvel and Disney can be this stupid and pathetic.
In the wake of The Marvels being the biggest failure in the history of the MCU, Marvel, and Disney’s project of adapting the legendary comic book line to the big screen, the latest Captain America film, Captain America: Brave New World, is getting cut up and Frankenstein in the editing room as the movie has been delayed a whole year for extensive reshoots and rewrites. And, as you probably could guess, this is just ANOTHER bad sign for Marvel.
It is honestly getting sad and depressing at this point talking about how Marvel.
This studio used to be so good with such legendary, inspiring, and heroic characters like Tony Stark, Captain America, Thor, Black Panther, Black Widow, Spider-Man, etc. taking center stage and capping off amazing team up and solo tales like Avengers 1, Infinity War, Iron Man 1, Captain America: Winter Soldier, Spider-Man: No Way Home, etc. Remember those days?
Well, probably not as they’ve long been gone…and they really weren’t that long ago. Now, I know that sounds like a contradiction, and it kind of is in a sense, but that’s how BAD the latest string of Marvel movies and shows have become.
Disney and the MCU executives have absolutely unleashed the content sledge pipe of horrific, poorly acted, poorly thought out, moronically written, and just downright dreadful planning films and shows that have not only over statured the MCU market by an unprecedented level, but it also has annihilated all of the goodwill and character and plot progression the first three phases of the MCU brought.
If the MCU ended with Endgame, it would be widely and rightfully considered one of the greatest film franchises of all-time.
That’s how good all of these characters, plots, moral dilemmas, magical systems, etc. were interwoven and closed with the release of Endgame (except if you’re Hulk). But, as we all know, it did not end with Endgame, and all of the characters who were left standing, such as Thor, Hawkeye, Loki, Scarlet Witch, etc., were made into complete fools.
And that’s exactly what happened to Falcon and Winter Solider with the release of these reports.
Now, even if this movie didn’t exist and was not being developed, Falcon and Winter Soldier would still have gotten the post-Phase 3 slander treatment as their Disney+ show was utterly dreadful. The show took an extremely interesting character in Winter Solider and a rather straightforward, secondary character in Falcon and made them into the MCU’s version of Dumb and Dumber. That’s how bad the show was.
And, I really don’t have high hopes for this film if MAJOR aspects of the film need to be rewritten and reshot? I mean, how were they ever going to release this thing in the Summer of 2024 (which was the original release date) when at least a third of the film wasn’t even remotely ready to be seen by the public with the overwhelmingly negative responses from the test screenings?
Has no one at Marvel looked over the scripts of theses movies?
Maybe this is Marvel just being extra careful after the complete failure of The Marvels, but I don’t know about this movie. I like Winter Solider (though he loses his shine without Steve Rodgers to foil him) and I think Falcon works far better as Falcon than Captain America, but I think this is going to fail as The Marvel did.
And that’s a real shame for the Captain America franchise.
