The Panthers Have FIRED Frank Reich!

Frank Reich is already fired?!?! The Carolina Panthers have been a complete, total, and worthless dumpster fire all season long, and it has now cost first-year HC Frank Reich his job after only 11 games in charge.

What a complete and total disaster the Panthers are right now.

Despite having the 1st overall pick, being in the worst division in football, and implementing a brand-new coaching regime just this past offseason, the Carolina Panthers have been the single-worst team in football this year as they sit 1-10 and have looked completely awful. And, for being so horrible, Frank Reich is now out of a job!

So, if you’ve been following the NFL, and more specifically the Carolina Panthers, just a little bit this season, you’re bound to know that the single-worst team in football has been the Carolina Panthers by a country mile. Oh, sure, the Patriots (2-9), the Bears (3-8), and the Cardinals (2-10) have all also been extremely poor this season and have similar records to the Panthers, but the Panthers have just been a whole other level of crap this year.

I mean, they have the 30th ranked total yards gained/game offense (265.9) in the league, the 30th ranked passing yards gained/game offense (173.3), the 29th ranked rushing yards gained/game offense (92.6), the 29th ranked total points scored/game offense (15.7), the 23rd ranked rushing yards against/game defense (124.9), the 29th ranked total points against/game defense (26.5), and they have the 28th worst turnover differential in the league at -7.

Oh, and did I mention that Bryce Young, who is the 2020 Heisman winner, the 2021 AP Player of the Year winner, Davey O’Brien award winner, Manning award winner, Maxwell Award winner, 2021 SEC Player of the Year winner, 2021 All-American, 2022 Sugar Bowl winner, 2X National Champion finalist, and won the 2020 National Championship with Alabama, looks like he never played a second of football in his life?!?!??!?

Young has only thrown for 1,877 yards, 9 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions, he has a woeful 1.1 TD-INT ratio, he’s been sacked 40 times, he’s fumbled 6 times, his total TD-TO ratio is an ASTRONOMICALLY bad 0.64, and he’s only won a single game this year.

Yeah, even though the Texans clearly have won the 2022 NFL draft against the Panthers with CJ Stroud (he was drafted 2nd overall) looking like a legit future NFL MVP winner and Will Andersen Jr. (he was drafted 3rd overall) a fantastic, young, promising defensive end, I don’t know how they lost that 15-13 game to the Panthers earlier this season.

Nevertheless, the real major issue for the Panthers this season has undoubtedly been now former head coach Frank Reich. I like Frank Reich and I think he can be an outstanding offensive coordinator for a team as is a Super Bowl winner (2017 with the Eagles) and would have won Carson Wentz the MVP in 2017 if Wentz didn’t go down with an injury, but he’s clearly broken as a head coach.

And I mean BROKEN!

There hasn’t been a head coach in NFL history since the 1970 merger between the NFL and AFL to get fired in back-to-back seasons prior to today. Yes, Frank Reich, who was fired by the Indianapolis Colts last year after going 3-5-1 (which really isn’t that bad looking at him now) to start off the 2022 season, is the first coach in more than a half century to be fired by two different teams in consecutive seasons. That’s how bad the Panthers have been.

You can’t be a serious offensive-minded NFL head coach and post Bottom-6 stats in EVERY SINGLE major team offensive stat ranking, break a 1st overall pick QB who has one of the most impressive college records in the history of the draft by turning him into an incompetent shell of himself, and only win a single game in 11 matches, yet still expect to be a head coach of a team that was hoping to rebound after a good 7-10 record last year.

Yes, did you forget that the Carolina Panthers under interim head coach Steve Wilks and an unholy starting QB combination of Sam Darnold and no-confidence Baker Mayfield managed to go 7-10 and NEARLY make the playoffs over Tom Brady’s Bucs last year? That’s the reason why the Panthers traded away their 1st round pick last year, their destined 1st overall pick in the draft this year, and superstar WR D.J. Moore to the Bears to draft Bryce Young.

I don’t like getting rid of a new head coach after just 11 games and I would have also of fired the GM if I was in charge, but Reich needed to go before he REALLY destroyed Bryce Young and the Panthers.
