Out of all the huge, ambitious Skyrim mods being developed (which there are A LOT, thankfully), I was sure the Skyrim Together Reborn Mod was never going to come out as, sadly, is the case for most of these mod projects. Thankfully, I was wrong as Skyrim Together Reborn not only was released this week, but also works!
What the developers behind this mod project have done is nothing short of incredible. They have managed to transform an 11-year-old, single-player Action-RPG into a CO-OP, Action-RPG game.
Yes, you read that correctly. That have turned SKYRIM into a CO-OP game!
How a feat like this is even possible is beyond me. But, somehow or another, these modders/developers have done it.
No longer does your dragonborn have to fight Alduin and his hordes of dragons alone as now you can invite up to 8 people to play in your “Skyrim World”. Alduin really won’t know what hit him when 8 Dragonborns show up to cast him down in Sovengard .
I’m glad that this mod has come out, showcasing the talented (unpaid) work these people have put into a game they love. Skyrim would never have been able to live on for over a decade after its release if it was not for its brilliant moding community.
Now, I must say that Together Reborn is not a perfect mod by any account, and its own development team would tell you the same thing. There is bugs, issues, etc. that makes playing with 8 or so people. The camera is still limited to the “one person” viewpoint, which makes it challenging to see all players on screen at one time.
Plus, the usual Bethesda bugs persist while playing Together Reborn, though to higher degree (in my case).
But none of that matters as Skyrim has gained yet another lifeline as swarms of people will restart their Skyrim saves to play with their friends!
