She-Hulk: Attorney At Law Episode 5 Was Another Dud

She-Hulk: Attorney At Law (Disney/Marvel-She-Hulk: Attorney At Law-Sham Clip Trailer)

*Sigh* Yet another dud. She-Hulk: Attorney At Law Episode 5 was yet another boring addition to this boring series as again nothing of note happened.

This show’s plot is the literal embodiment of a Boston Orange Line train. For those who don’t know what that means or have never lived in the Boston region, essentially this show is a rudderless mess that constantly breaks down over plot contrivances and/or just boring narratives and character angles.

This is now, without a shadow of a doubt in my mind, the WORST MARVEL PROJECT OF ALL TIME.

The Eternals, Thor: The Dark World, Iron Man 2, and The Incredible Hulk have got nothing on this show. It is just painful (and I mean really painful) to watch this show at this point. There are no likable characters (apart from the few cameos from Wong and Hulk) that I can get attached to, the plot is dreadfully dull, and the CGI/set designs are meh. This is something I’d expect from Cartoon Network, not Marvel.

“But you’re not supposed to like this show. It was made for single, 30+ year old woman,” some “professional” movie/T.V. critic is probably spewing in their review of the show. And all I can say to that is…that’s stupid!

Why cut off 85-90% of the global population from being potential consumers by making a show that only an extremely specific category of people can enjoy/watch it? Does that make any sense?

I thought the executives at Disney were supposed to be smart, shrewd businessmen that would only put out profitable, consumer-friendly products that would attract the LARGEST customer base possible. She-Hulk isn’t doing that, if some of its ardent defenders are to be believed.

In fact, it’s purposefully doing the opposite of attracting a wide-ranging viewership base.

Anyway, you’re probably wondering what this week’s episode was about, right? Well, it was all about She-Hulk getting into a trademark battle with the supervillain (if she can even qualify as a supervillain) Titania over the name ‘She-Hulk’.

Yes, you read that right. She-Hulk had to prove why the name ‘She-Hulk’ belonged to her and not to Tatania, who was using it for makeup and other cosmetic purposes. Oh, and there was also a side plot with the guy from the shape-shifting elf storyline and Ginger Gonzaga’s Nikki Ramos trying to find clothes for Jennifeer Walters to wear while being both herself and She-Hulk.

Yup, that was the entire episode.

Now, I should say that Renée Elise Goldsberry, most famously known from the musical Hamilton, was great in this episode as she was properly introduced as the lawyer Amelia. Unfortunately, for Goldsberry, the character Amelia didn’t give her much to work with as she is another caricature created from the minds of the writers.

And that’s the thing about this show: it has a lot of really good actors, who are more than worthy and capable of portraying great Marvel characters, but the writing has let them down tremendously.

These actors and actresses are forced to have to act out caricatures of what a “real person” is by this team of writers, showrunners, and directors. Like I said, I don’t know how this show was approved by Disney.

She Hulk: Attorney At Law Episode 5 gets a 5.8/10 from me. This show is honestly borderline garbage, though not from the fault of the actors, actresses, production crew, etc. They’ve done their jobs exactly as the showrunners, writers, and directors have instructed them. The fault for this stinking pile of trash called “She-Hulk: Attorney At Law” lies solely at the feet of those three groups of people.
